Ames Mobile Home Sales
never pay uofront and never deal with Ames Homes Sales or Tim Ames unless you dont expect much!
“we bought a mobile home from Tim Ames last summer.. 2015.. he treated us well and was very anxious to make us happy.. until we made the mistake of paying 100% of the cost in full and upfront. then we had to chase him down every time we called. the home was to be delivered by August 15.. Sept.7 1/2 of the house arrives.. they couldn't even set the house on the foundation straight. .. dropped the back half of the house... then for the next few weeks we had to hunt him down again to get the front half of the house. we then had to fight to get the steps for the house and are still ( this is March 29 2015) waiting for them to finish the inside walls . and to fix the wall that they damaged while putting the two halves together. not level I might add.. we have since found several nails or screws working up through the excessively squeaky floors.. the crew HA! did not even bring all of the necessary fasteners, screws etc.. nor the wallboard.. we have been in an unfinished house for 6 months.. also.. we have discovered that when they dropped the back of the house, they cracked the guest bath toilet. we had asked to have this finished by the holidays back in early November. We were told by Mr. Ames not likely. really? it is not like we owe HIM any money.. I don't think the Man has any conscience .. we worked very hard to come up with the money so that we would not owe Him anything. you would think that he would feel a smidge indebted to that fact. Did I mention the kitchen cabinets are not even finished? the lights are not the ones that were in the model home.. in late October we were pushing to get the insulated skirting put on. legal threats were the only way it happened. we have received over 200 inches of snow..thank heaven for Tim sending it..as I said Legal persuasion.. not the skirting we had ordered but, it will do. and the cabinets in the kitchen?? I showed Tim and his wife ( who hurried up with a set of 2 by 4 steps after we let them know that our grandson fell out the front door ) the fact that the front facing ( the entire piece that holds the doors ) is not even fully attached.back in October. have not seen nor heard from Tim since before Thanksgiving. talking to a lawyer tomorrow.. and the BBB. as well as my county commissioner. who knows how things will turn out.so no I will not ever recommend this company.. ” -

“where to start....once you sign on the dotted line you are no longer treated with respect, constantly raising lot rent (mine is almost $300 a month) for maintaining park...what a joke, you literally have to pick a pot hole the entire park...you pay heat, hot water, electric ect. plow, mow and if they think it is too long they do it and charge $25, say they will fix things then tell you its your problem, they in NO way maintain this park....They are a joke” -

Stay Away!!!
“Bought our home new in 2009 and have had nothing but issues with the ceilings, floors, and windows. Tim Ames will ignore you for months and when he finally does send his men up, they only get half the job done and they never do it right the first time! Tim and his crew have been very unprofessional, all except Charlie. Do Not buy a home from Ames Homes, it will be a nightmare!” -

Awful
“ We were told it would take about 2 weeks to set up our home and it was more than two months. We finally moved in without paying them what we owed and I finished most of the work myself and charged them for it, I deducted the cost out of our final payment. When they found out that we moved in they threatnened to take us to court... even though we signed an agreement to take all disputes to an arbitrator. The salesmen are dishonest and unprofessional (except for the maintenance manager he was great to work with... except for the fact the he worked for the two Norms), they offered us the extended appliance warranty which we declined, two weeks later they tried to tell us that appliances were not included. The set up crew was a joke, they didn't unbolt the entire chassis from the trailer... when the craine lifted the modular section three floor joists broke in half, they used sheetrock screws to put our chimney together, a section of the chimney was not installed causing the exhaust to vent INTO OUR HOUSE!!, nobody ever informed us that the vinyl siding that was on the house was discontinued and unavailable .. it goes on and on... AVOID!!!!”
